Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Maintenance Clerk to join our team in Minooka, IL. In this role, you will provide administrative and logistical support to the maintenance department, helping manage work orders, maintain parts inventory, track equipment records, and coordinate with vendors. This is a key operational position that keeps our facility organized, equipment running smoothly, and technicians supported.
Key Responsibilities
- Work Order Management: Receive, generate, update, and close out maintenance work orders using computer software/CMMS.
- Inventory Control: Monitor spare parts stock, conduct cycle counts, order supplies, and maintain an organized parts room/tool crib.
- Vendor & Purchase Coordination: Liaise with vendors for parts pricing, availability, and purchase orders;track deliveries to ensure timely repairs.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of maintenance histories, equipment repairs, scheduled PMs (preventive maintenance), and safety compliance records.
- Department Communication: Act as a central point of contact between maintenance technicians, facility management, and outside contractors.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous clerical, administrative, or inventory control experience (preferably in a warehouse, manufacturing, or facility setting).
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and data entry.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or inventory tracking software is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
