Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Supervisor (Service Channel) to join our team at a large food distribution center in Minooka, IL. This role is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations, ensuring equipment reliability, and leading a team to support efficient warehouse and distribution functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance within a food distribution center environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities for facility equipment and systems
- Ensure all machinery, conveyor systems, refrigeration units, and building systems are operating efficiently
- Lead, train, and support a team of maintenance technicians
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and operational issues
- Maintain compliance with food safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies
- Coordinate with operations and warehouse teams to ensure minimal disruption to production
- Manage maintenance schedules, work orders, and inventory of parts and supplies
- Assist in developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Required: Experience in a food distribution center or similar environment
- Previous supervisory or lead maintenance experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems
- Experience with conveyor systems, refrigeration, and warehouse equipment is a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with safety regulations and food-grade facility standards
Work Environment
- Large-scale food distribution center
- May require working in varying temperatures (including refrigerated areas)
