Joliet Staffing is hiring a Receiving Office Supervisor for a leading food distribution center in Minooka, IL. We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented professional to oversee the administrative operations of the Receiving Department. This role is responsible for supervising office staff, ensuring accurate documentation, coordinating inbound shipments, and supporting efficient warehouse receiving operations in a fast-paced food distribution environment.

Reports To: Receiving Manager

Shift: 6: 00 AM Start

Salary: $47, 000 - $52, 000 per year

Job Summary
The Receiving Office Supervisor oversees the daily administrative functions of the Receiving Department, ensuring the accurate processing of inbound shipments, inventory documentation, and receiving records. This position supervises receiving office personnel, coordinates communication between warehouse operations and transportation partners, and helps maintain inventory accuracy while ensuring compliance with company policies and food safety standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervise the daily operations of the Receiving Office and provide leadership to office staff.
  • Oversee the processing of inbound shipment documentation, bills of lading, packing slips, purchase orders, and receiving records.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Coordinate with Receiving, Inventory Control, Transportation, Purchasing, and Warehouse Operations to ensure efficient inbound product flow.
  • Review receiving documentation for accuracy and resolve discrepancies with vendors and carriers.
  • Monitor inbound schedules and communicate shipment updates to internal departments.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory reconciliation.
  • Prepare and distribute receiving reports, productivity metrics, and operational documentation.
  • Train, coach, and develop receiving office associates on company procedures and systems.
  • Schedule employee work assignments, monitor attendance, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, and documentation requirements.
  • Support inventory audits, cycle counts, and internal quality reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes and operational efficiency.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal departments, vendors, and transportation partners.
  • Perform additional administrative duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory experience in warehouse administration, receiving, logistics, or distribution.
  • Experience in a food distribution or food manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of receiving procedures, inventory control, and warehouse documentation.
  • Previous experience supervising office or administrative personnel preferred.
